It has power to remove known viruses from the computer system, too. It runs all the time in computer memory. Therefore, as soon as, the antivirus software smells a security threat, it will identify the virus and alert the user about the virus. Antivirus Software will ask the user to opt for some action or automatically will try to clean the infection as soon as possible.

Examples of Antivirus Software:

Virus Definitions / Antivirus Updates / Virus Signatures

Virus definitions contain the information about identification of the viruses, worms, Trojan horses, adware or spyware etc. Antivirus software uses these virus definitions to detect and remove viruses from computer system.

Managing the Antivirus Software

Antivirus Software is very important to keep the computer system healthy and work properly. As the virus can disturb normal working of the computer system, therefore, A suitable antivirus software must be installed in computer system. Moreover, new viruses appear day by day, the antivirus software installed in the computer must be updated on daily basis. So that, it can handle new viruses. What are Dual Devices or Both Input/ Output Devices

The devices that can be used to perform both functions -input and output- are called Dual Devices. These devices are also called Dual Purpose Devices or Both Input/Output Devices. With the help of a dual purpose device, we can enter data into computer as well as we can output data from the computer to outside world.  For example, Dual devices include:  Touch Screen Monitor, Modem, Network Interface Card, Sound card, Hard disk drive, Floppy disk Drive, Magnetic Tape Drive CD-Writer and DVD-Writer etc. These are also called Input/output devices, because they perform both functions. Touch Screen Monitor Dual Devices or Both Input / Output Devices - Touch screens Touch Screen Monitor is an input/output device. It uses a special touch sensitive screen. The User can enter data by touching icons or menus on the screen. As soon as the user selects a command from menu, output is displayed on screen. Commonly touch screen monitors use sensors to detect touch of finger. ...

Explain Star Network Topology With Advantages and Disadvantages

Topic: Explain the Working Star Network Topology With Advantages and Disadvantages Star Topology Star Topology is the most popular and widely used network topology in local area networks . In star topology , all computers are connected with a central device known as HUB or Switch. Now-a-days Hubs are often replaced by Fast Network Switches. The working of Star Topology The sender computer sends data to the hub. The hub sends it to the destination computer. So, all data communication is managed through HUB or Switch. In a star network, each node (file server, workstations, and peripherals) is connected to a central device called a hub.  The hub takes a signal that comes from any node and passes it along to all the other nodes in the network. The star topology reduces the chance of network failure by connecting all of the systems to a central node. What is Star topology?  Advantages and Disadvantages of star topology Note: The major difference between ...
