Managing Antivirus Software Properly

What is an Antivirus Software?

Antivirus Software is used to detect and remove Viruses, Worms, Trojan Horses, Ad-ware and Spyware etc. from a computer system. Antivirus Software has identifying information about known viruses. It has power to remove known viruses from the computer system, too. It runs all the time in computer memory. Therefore, as soon as, the antivirus software smells a security threat, it will identify the virus and alert the user about the virus. Antivirus Software will ask the user to opt for some action or automatically will try to clean the infection as soon as possible.

Examples of Antivirus Software:

Virus Definitions / Antivirus Updates / Virus Signatures

Virus definitions contain the information about identification of the viruses, worms, Trojan horses, adware or spyware etc. Antivirus software uses these virus definitions to detect and remove viruses from computer system.

Managing the Antivirus Software

Antivirus Software is very important to keep the computer system healthy and work properly. As the virus can disturb normal working of the computer system, therefore, A suitable antivirus software must be installed in computer system. Moreover, new viruses appear day by day, the antivirus software installed in the computer must be updated on daily basis. So that, it can handle new viruses. For this purpose, most of the antivirus programs get updated virus definitions, automatically, from their respective websites through internet. Virus definitions must be updated regularly, so that no new virus can by pass the antivirus software and destroy your precious data or software.

Explain Main Difference Between System Software and Application Software

Topic: Explain Main Difference Between System Software and Application Software            Differentiate between system software and application software Before , explaining the main differences between application software and system software, let us know the definitions of Application software and System software with examples. What is System Software: System software is a set of programs to control all components of computer and to manage overall operations of computer system. Differences between System software and application software System software is used as a base to install and run all application software. Examples of system software include: Operating Systems, like Microsoft Windows, DOS, Unix and Linux Device Drivers like Device driver software of a Printer (found on CD normally provided with the printer) Utility Programs like AVAST anti virus, Disk Scanners and File Viewers etc. What is Applicat...

What are Different Types of Computer Hardware

What is Hardware? The physical parts of a computer are called hardware. Hardware can be touched or seen by us. For example, hard disk, mouse, keyboard, CD, CD-ROM Drive, Floppy Disk, Speakers, Modem and Printers - all are computer hardware. Explain different types of computer hardware Different types of hardware components on the basis of the functionality  they provide are as follows: 1.    Input devices Input devices are used to enter data and instructions into computer. Examples of input devices are: Keyboard, mouse, scanner, digital camera etc. Microphone Mouse Keyboard 2.    The Central Processing unit Central processing unit is the brain of the computer . It is also called CPU or Processor. Intel is the leading manufacturer of microprocessors. For example, Intel Pentium IV 3.2 MHz is an example of a CPU. You can see the images of processors / Micro processors or CPUs. Images of CPU or Microprocessor or s...

Advantages and Disadvantages of Mesh Topology

Topic: Advantages and Disadvantages of Mesh Topology Mesh Topology In a mesh topology, every device on the network is physically connected to every other device on the network. Therefore, data can be sent on several possible paths from source computer to destination computer. Mesh topology is more reliable with better performance. Mesh Network Topology is mostly used in wide area networks where reliability is important. Advantages of Mesh Network Topology 1. Since, there are many links to transfer data, Mesh topology gets rid of the traffic problem . Data may be transferred through different links. 2. If one link becomes unusable, it does not disturb the whole system . Other links can be used for communication. 3. Since each node has physical connection with other nodes, therefore, one node can transfer data to many nodes at the same time. Disadvantages of Mesh Network Topology 1. It is very expensive due to implementation of multiple links for each no...
